DOWESO Project

has conducted research and development activity named “DOWESO Project”, focused on the abatement of submicron particulate present in the exhaust gases of industrial and marine engines. This project represents the natural evolution of previous research activities carried out by the company in collaboration with the University Federico II of Naples, particularly the Deecon Project and the European PON Rain Project, from which it inherited know-how and technological solutions.

DOWESO was successfully completed at prototype level, leading to the installation aboard Adria Ferries Marina of the first functioning industrial prototype. In this context, VTS played a key role in the production of essential electrical components, necessary to guarantee the correct functioning of the system and demonstrate the effectiveness of the technology developed.

The tests confirmed the high effectiveness of the plant, with an abatement capacity of 99% of submicron particulate, even in the most critical classes, below the thresholds of PM10, PM5 and PM2.5. Beyond use on marine and industrial engines, the technology developed is also suitable for terrestrial applications for air purification, with applications ranging from offices to shopping centres, up to private dwellings, concretely contributing to the improvement of air quality in daily lived environments.
